Welcome to Rodney Marshall Stained Glass
Stained glass has been my sole business and passion for over 30 years. I am committed to the integrity of my work, with emphasis on good design and use of colour, and because a window has a practical purpose as well as a decorative one, I place strong importance on sound structural principles.
As glass is the crucial element in a window, its quality is of prime importance. I use a mixture of glass, including mouthblown (or antique, mainly for painted windows) and a variety of rolled and textured. All glass comes from overseas, either France or Germany for the mouthblown, or USA for the rolled glass. No glass for the stained glass industry is made in Australia.
One special service I
can offer is painting on glass. It is not essential to use
paint on stained glass, but it allows more flexibility and much
finer detail in the design. Most traditional church windows
incorporate painted glass.
As well as new work, I have undertaken many restoration projects. The two best-known of these are the Queen Victoria Building and the Strand Arcade, both in Sydney. The photos in the galleries show projects I have undertaken over the past 30 years, both restoration and new work.
I hope by looking at this web site, you might consider the use of stained glass in your plans.
Thank you for your visit
